GOOGLE BUSINESS PROFILE

Google Business Profile Management, Profile Analysis & Local Grid

Keep your listing accurate, see how people find it, and follow the actions they take from Google Search and Maps.

Vicin brings profile management, performance analysis, search discovery, Google changes, and local ranking context into one connected review.

Vicin goes beyond Google Business Profile management. It helps you analyze performance, uncover what needs attention, and make informed improvements from the same platform.

OVERVIEW AND VISIBILITY

See where the profile appeared

Profile impressions show how often Google reported your listing in Search and Maps during the selected period.

The Overview separates Search from Maps and mobile from desktop. Those are different cuts of the same visibility: surface tells you where the profile appeared; device tells you how it was viewed.

Read that visibility beside profile actions. Website clicks, call button clicks, direction requests, bookings, and conversations show which next steps people chose where Google reports them.

Actions per 100 impressions puts activity beside visibility. It is a comparison measure, not a conversion rate.

ACTION ANALYSIS

Find what actually drove the change

A large percentage change in a small action can matter less than a modest change in a high-volume action.

Vicin compares action counts with the previous period and shows each action's contribution to the net movement. It can distinguish a fall in direction requests from a steadier website-click count.

The analysis also breaks out actions per 100 impressions by action and shows activity by day of week for the selected period. Monthly interaction history adds context beyond a single date range.

A day-of-week pattern describes the selected period. It does not claim that every future week will behave the same way.

MANAGE PROFILE

Update the details customers rely on

Manage Profile connects a measured issue to the supported listing fields you can review and submit through Vicin.

Work through the business information Google currently returns, then check the proposed edit before sending it. Google decides whether a submitted change is accepted, remains in process, or is refused.

Field availability follows the selected business and the fields Google offers for its category. The page also records changes submitted through Vicin.

Identity

Location and hours
Address, supported service-area settings, regular hours, special hours, and additional hour types Google offers.

Vicin reports what Google returned for the profile instead of assigning an arbitrary optimization score.

PROFILE CHECKS

Catch Google changes that need a response

Vicin separates changes Google made or suggested from your own edits that are still processing.

A Google change can affect customer-facing details such as hours or a website link. Manage Profile shows the values involved and lets an authorized editor choose to keep the business's version or use Google's.

Analysis also reports factual configuration checks for website, phone, categories, hours, description, services, and attributes. A field that Google did not return is shown as such, not treated as proof that the profile is deficient.

The business's profile remains under Google's validation and publishing rules.

LOCAL RANKING CONTEXT

Put Maps impressions beside geographic rank

Business Profile performance and Local Grid answer different local-search questions.

Profile impressions describe where Google showed the listing and what people did. Local Grid measures how the business ranked at sampled points across an area for a tracked keyword.

Read the two together when a grid capture exists. A drop in Maps impressions can prompt a check of Top 3 coverage, visible reach, and the areas where rank changed. One measure does not replace the other.

SEO and GBP Experiments can preserve the recorded change, a starting baseline, and later Local Grid measurements. The comparison shows what followed the edit without claiming the edit caused it.

WEBSITE HANDOFF

Follow a profile click to the website

A Business Profile website click and a website session measure different events.

Vicin reports Google's website-click count. When the profile website URL carries usable utm_source and utm_medium tags and GA4 is matched to the business, Vicin can compare those clicks with tagged website sessions.

That comparison helps investigate the handoff from local discovery to site behavior. It does not claim every click became a session or that an untagged Google visit came from the profile.

MEASUREMENT NOTES

Know what the evidence can prove

Vicin keeps source limits attached to the measurement so a missing number does not become a false conclusion.

Reporting delay
Business Profile Performance data can arrive several days late. Vicin shows which dates were analyzed.
Limited source history
Google retains limited Performance history. Older dates may age out before they can be read again.
Call button clicks
A tap on the profile's call button does not confirm a completed phone conversation.
Direction requests
A direction request records an action on the profile, not an in-person visit.
Actions per 100 impressions
This normalizes reported actions against impressions; it is not a person-level conversion rate.
Demand estimates
Approximate searches and Business Profile impressions have different counting rules and cannot establish market share.
Withheld search counts
Google can report a term while withholding its exact low-volume impression count. Vicin preserves that distinction.

QUESTIONS

Details that matter in practice

Can I review more than one business location?

Yes. Select a business location in Vicin to review its own profile, performance, search terms, and management details. Each location keeps its own measurement context.

Why does a term have no monthly search estimate?

An estimate may be unavailable for that query or location. A term first reported after the monthly demand read can also wait until the next refresh. Vicin does not turn either state into zero searches.

Does a profile edit prove it changed local rankings?

No. You can compare later Business Profile and Local Grid evidence with an earlier period, but timing alone cannot establish that the edit caused the movement.
